It's a hacked source file.
This means that when new versions of arma server (0.3 final, etc) are released, unless pig releases an updated patch, we won't be able to upgrade the server without losing all of the pigs modifications. Effectively we'd have to take all of the pighack maps off if we ever upgrade the server.
I'm probably going to add the pig hacked maps anyway, as I really like them.
Just letting you know. Any thoughts/idea's welcome.

As u know, i vote 4 putting a couple of new rounds in wild, one with ctf and another with shooting zones, maybe using some 4 exes rounds that haven't a lot of fun, i think with just a couple of normal ones is enough, if i'm not wrong there is still like 4 of them.

I think the ctf has to be the last, it makes the matches not decided until the last round, and makes no having 2 normal rounds concecutive.

And the shoot'em one has to be one of the middle, maybe the one of the maps we test yesterday, the big sumo with walls of wargasm one. It was more funny with them, i enjoyed the rounds there yesterday.

I'm not sure about styball, i didn't like it when i tryed.

Yeah, last round CTF, you can score more points than normal, so you have a chance to catch up.

I was never a fan of Styball myself. But I will play around with it.
The ball bounces off walls, so with the right map it could work. We'll see.

One problem I see is CTF was really no good with more than 4 players per team, it became very messy and didn't really work.
One solution is to turn respawning off. But that will take a bit away from the fun.
I can't see another solution, there's no extra options with respawning, it's either on or off.

well, think that the most times there isn't 7 on 7, then respawn can be nice, and if u put on diamonds map there will be a lot of crashes in middle, isn't the same than in a simply map, i think it can work, just let's try it Wink

but i was thinking on the way we have to do this, maybe we have to insert on the script the possibility to set some rules 4 round, not jsut on maps, a first step about what we wanted to do in mysql... (how is that stuff? i will have some time to help next mounth).

Most times it's not 7v7, but a lot of the time it is.
I'm not sure if you played CT CTF when there was 12+ people there.
There wasn't enough for people to do, 1 would stay in their home zone respawning, so you when you died you just got respawned. This made the fps problem stupid. It seems it's the respawning that is causing this, not the zones as was once thought.
It's not good to add maps that don't really work, look at chico's BIC.

I was thinking of doing it the same way CT wild works now, just add 20+ settings to each map and add all the default CTF settings to everytime.cfg. It will work, but will be messy.
The mysql settings route is a far better method, it's just the initial time to set it up. If you have the time, great, we will work on it. But I don't have a lot of time at the mo, I can help a bit.

As an experiment I have upped the max_clients on CT CTF to 14 and turned off respawning.
The respawning is the buggy setting anyhow.
If it works we should be able to integrate it into CT Wild.

lol this is like a long-msn talk... i think that ct wild is a fortress and should remain fortress server. i know ed is its father but if u will make it then can u get rid of ctf, create old ct wild and new ct wild

The trouble is, with 2 popular servers we will use too much traffic, it will end up costing too much money.
If we want to use these features, we need to merge into one server.
Now if we had regular donations coming in, it would be different.
