Okay, here is my second attempt at making a map worthy of Wild Fortress... lord



Notes: This is a HEX map. The zones are single-touch to conquer. I also (intentionally) have left a very slight space between the surrounding wall and seemingly touching hexagons for experts that want to attempt to grind between the walls... It does not look like you can, but you can. It takes about 1/3 to 1/2 of your rubber to make it. If this is not acceptable, I can easily remove it so that it does not allow anyone, or to open it to allow anyone. Cool Open to other suggestions as well...

ok maybe that was a bit mean tested it it looks good

it really is not too hard to go through the outside


one thing war when you post the code ed does not like it when you put the SP settings in

okay... I'm going to leave them for now (Ed can delete them) in case someone else wants to test it as single player... I don't know how to test as multi-player... Is there a way? I also had to correct the WALLS_LENGTH to 220 if you got the code before this post.

I like the look of that one.
Hey Kyle, you're not the only one who can make hex maps now.

Like the other map, I will test it in the week sometime. It may need stretching a bit, but it should find it's way in.

Cool... Only thing I could think was that 220 might be too short for the WALLS_LENGTH, you might want to increase it a bit. Right now it barely allows you to wrap all your zones with no room for error.

I've had a play on this one. It's a great map.

I would like it stretched though. The poor guy in the middle has no chance of escape. He's plunged, headlong, into a sea of deathzones.
I would probably lose the dz's to. Or maybe spread them out.

I'm very busy with work at the mo, but if you could stretch the whole thing maybe half as much again, I up upload it to CT Wild.
Leave the central part as it is, just move the main arena walls out at both ends, then move the fortress zones and spawn points so there's more room to break. Don't worry about negetive values.

I was thinking conquest rate 10, defend rate 20. You will take a zone immediately, unless it's occupied by a defender, which is hard since they're small. Will make for some interesting battles. Probably need experimenting with.

After the first map, I thought I'd try negative values and it worked great, thankfully. It is nice to have the dead center be (0, 0).

Okay, here's a revision... zones are further away from center now... I tried half the current distance and it seemed just too far, so did 25% more instead of 50% more, but also got the zones closer to the back wall so that it could be grinded on for part of defense (if they wish to leave three zones uncovered). I also added 5 to the WALL_LENGTH and reduced CYCLE_ACCEL_RIM by one down to 2. I hope you like.

LOL anyway how did u do that bowing animation.. is it now available cos i use quick reply instead of post reply...

Anyway i was gonna make hex map, with the others but i forgot it... oh well i dont really care it wasnt that great, but this one looks good. How about instead of dz's make a sumo in the middle - first one there gets the zone hehehe that would be cool. if you increased the brake effects and the resivoir then u can get some nano-style battles in the centre.
