I think there should be a high rubber map(s) at wild fort, maybe a round of high rubber...there is none (Nano Scaled Up was the only one, is it still there?) and some ppl like high rubber, I think it would be fun to have a few high rubber maps, it would add diversity

I'll make some more modifications to Impact and send the map to wrtl. i think that will be a good high rubber and speed walls sumo map.

except that fortress and high rubber do not mix. if you want to try go to the dragon server... i forgot what the exact name is but me and root played there. it can really screw up defence etc.

and ct isnt a rubber clan

For all practical purposes nano maps ARE high- rubber maps. On nano with CYCLE_SPEED 4 and CYCLE_RUBBER 5 you can drive against a wall for more than a second without dying (1 ¼ secs, not counting any lag boni).
Nano Scaled Up failed, unfortunately, as I can't figure out how to set the physics so it has the same feeling as nano. It's currently on the non-existent round 13 and waiting to be fixed.

its impossible... really i have tried to... u can but it might be a square function or if u increase the speed by 'n' times u might have to increase rubber by

x^n (so if n is two then x squared)

edit: you also have to change the turn factor and turn speed factor (mabye)... but still no matter how good, normal size maps are no where near as good as typical nano maps, they just dont have enough charm, u cant see where u are in a nano map etc

I know about rubber, its unit is metres, and it is the maximum distance your cycle would go if it wasn't blocked (but is blocked) before it's dead. and d is proportional to v if t is constant, so this should work.
CYCLE_TURN_SPEED_FACTOR is a factor to the speed, too, so it shouldn't need any changes.
What does bother me is CYCLE_ACCEL, as I don't know the units/forumula for that.
But I guess you're right, scaled up nano maps do suck.

no. You're right that acceleration in general is measured in m/s², but CYCLE_ACCEL also has other factors in it, like the type of wall (well, that's a factor and doesn't reflect in the unit), and how close you are to it. It might be m²/s², suggesting an inverse proportion between distance and acceleration, but I'm not sure.
I'll have to have a look at the actual formula some day.

woah-this is getting technical Razz does any1 wanna explain what it means to a layman like me?

nano is different from high rubber, it looks smaller so it's actually harder to see what's going on (i always die as soon as i go anywhere another cycle, maybe that's just cuz i suck at it Razz)

I've actually never seen a high rubber sumo or fort server, i was just wondering what it would be like Razz
