I've been using macs 5 years so far.... but I must admit that I begin to hate those PCs (yeah, it's not even mac anymore since their switch to intel)

anyway a week ago I updated my Leopard to newest version and *pang*: Apple Mail suddenly deleted all my mails from last 2 years. great. so much about updates which should fix something - not the opposite.

yeah, I'm pretty angry now. You imagine.....

Guess my next laptop won't be a macbook but something else and a linux distro on it!

I searched too. it's not one of those problems that mailboxes disappear in mail's GUI but still are in that directory where mails usually puts them.

looking directly into mail's filesystem directory where it puts mails: all the messages are deleted. only the ones that have arrived since that catastrophe are there. that brings me to my guess that there's no way to bring the older ones back.

Well, you're free to use linux softwares on macos Wink
Personnally, I'm not a mac fanatic. That's just the only piece of hardware that allow me to run macosx, linux and windows legally ... I'm still spending more time on linux than on macos Smile The main point is that I use windaube only for compatibility issues with my customers Smile "daube" means shit in french and windaube is the sweet name users give it. I find winxp sp2 quite reliable though (kind of normal after so many years Wink

I use a MAC and a PC daily, for the last 15 years because of work. I like the PC better. MAC is like a toy.
