why thank you Razz

what I can do - if any of you can reply to this with some alterations I need to make -

On Thinking outside the box, I can make the smaller zones a one-touch conquer so they dont conflict with the big sumo zone.

Any other things that need to be done?

Hm, is there some sort of command/code to make zones a one-touch conquer, like on the Octa gone loopy and like the Speed hell map in dogfgiht?

Set these settings properly :
FORTRESS_CONQUEST_DECAY_RATE Rate a fortress zone "recovers" from being conquered
FORTRESS_CONQUEST_RATE Rate a fortress zone gets conquered with for each enemy in it
FORTRESS_DEFEND_RATE Rate a fortress zone "recovers" for each defending player

for example, octa gona loopy set FORTRESS_CONQUEST_RATE to 100 which give the expected result.

Take a browse through the servers section. It shows you what settings are used on each map.
See how the settings work for different maps.
Currently, you can only have the settings for the overall map - all zones must use the same settings.
What wrtl was talking about is hacking the code a bit to allow these settings to be controlled by the zones, not the map settings. Much more freedom.

Wrtl, before you start this, give us a shout (or start a thread), I will throw a wish list your way.

Ok I've edited the Thinking outside the box map, so the sumo zone doesnt conflict the small one-touch conquer zones.

Heres the preview, what you think?



(Also changed a couple of the settings. As the maps pretty big, I increased the speed to 40 and the rubber to 6. Walls length are still 300, zone conquer is 100, accel rim is set to 1).

its still a bit buggy though.

8 rubber, standard speed, rim accel 1. The deathzones are intended to slowly expand, thus creating a round which wont go on for hours... however my client keeps screwing up so if someone could fiddle about with it for me, much appreciated.

you may need to modify the fortress settings. By default they don't work like normal fortress
Standard fortress/sumo setting are:
FORTRESS_CONQUERED_KILL_MIN 0
FORTRESS_CONQUEST_DECAY_RATE .1
FORTRESS_CONQUEST_RATE .3
FORTRESS_DEFEND_RATE .2

add that to your autoexec.cfg or the map itself, you may want to tweak them for this map, that may fix it. If not, explain your problems.

well itd be kinda hard to test it for sumo settings with only me vs ai... would it be possible to put up a map testing server (very briefly) for half an hour or so, one night?
