Thx, can be funny, but perhaps the zones are put in a too close zone, will be hard to play, we have to probe it, if it become to hard just advancing a bit the zones will be great.

I hope our SSTT will test it.

But 3 axis?
Have you tried playing with 3 axis?

I played around with a 3 axis map. I hated it, far more luck that judgement. It's supposed to be fun, not infuriating.

Now give me a crazy 4 axis, 8 axis or (chico) 32 axis map and it will be considered.

Hey Ed I have played it; its not too bad. To make it easier the starting positions and win zones could be moved closer to the origin. I won against Armagetron. As it is now defense it didn??t seam to bad but I don??t know until there are more players but moving the zone??s closer it would make defense a lot easier. I just was sick of playing even numbered axes but it??s not that hard on 3. I actually think octagon is harder.

I loaded the map up single player and had a go.
I still think that 3 axis don't work.

You can't have both teams face each other at the start.
Due to crazy axis preventing start positions like -> <- due to the direction of the axis.
So, whereas one team will go straight up the grid grinding as they go, the other is forced to zigzag all the way making grinding for speed very difficult, taking over twice as long to reach the opponents fortress. Making the battle unfair from the start.

One solution would be to have a hexagonal fortress where the axis are equal for both players.
But I'm still not a big fan of 3 axis. You can make nice patterns on the grid though.

I agree with ed, at least 4 exes, but why not a 5 crazy map?, no pair exes needed and can make the map the most craziest, Rofl.

Think about 3 exes, one turn result on go back, with 5 mates is a tk start, to play properly is needed at least a turn <=90º (with 5 exes is a 72º turn, lol).

ya I loaded it again yesterday with more bots and realized that the one team faced the wall also. Unless there is a way around that any odd numbered axis won??t work. I may convent that map to a 4 axis map with more triangles in the middle.

You could try a 6 axis map. I ~believe~ there's a way to set it up so that you need 6 turns to do a 180' but only 1 to do a 135' turn (or whatever it is). Might work...

I??m going to make it a 6 axes map for now but I want to add some more obstacles in it before I post it again. I??m also looking at the source code for the game to look for a way to modify it.

Ok I changer the map to 6 axes and added 2 more rows of triangles on each side of the center. I also tweaked a few setting I didn??t like. Here is the code.

I've tried the new map Kyle, I like it.
I made it half the size (it was a bit big) and tinkered with a couple of settings.
It will go up in the near future.

I've been messing around with false normalisation of axis. Basically the x axis are different dimensions to y axis, so you appear to move 3 times faster up the arena as you do across it (or whatever dimensions i choose).

It is mighty confusing to play, but a lot of fun. I had a test of it on CT Wild, was too fast with the settings I chose though.

With these 2 new game modes I'm not sure if I should shuffle around existing maps or make each battle 12 rounds.

Or maybe only have one chico level per match.

I'm going to drop Chico's Wild Ride as I'm told it is unplayable on older pc's due to fps going right down.

Whatever happens there will be a big shuffle, probably after the match with GP.

Yes, making more rounds on match will be better, now with 25 maps and growing, 10 rounds is short, and some maps shuffling have no sense... 12 is a good number, but 15 has to be the max.

You probably should make it 12 rounds I??m working on a Chico map now I just have to add a few fortress zones and it will be done. It will be interesting to play.

What are the Chico setting? I know axes are set to 32, but I have multiple fortress zones and whenever I get one of them I win. So it would be nice to see a copy of your maps so I can get all of the setting correct.
