I will be the one organizing this for TuI.

We would like to battle CT.

Who: Hopefully 8 of us can make it, if not at least a 5 vs 5 or 6 vs 6.

Where: Any recommendations? Wild West or Legit's server are the only American one's. If it's 5 vs 5 we can play there, if not I think 2020 Team Challenge will work.

When: Preferably Sunday at about 8 or 9 pm GMT (20:00 or 21:00)

What: Fortress - Best of 5 Matches

*Note: Try to get 8 people to show, beacause I have already gotten a few commitments.


DATE: Obviously not this Sunday, (2 days from now) but can we aim for the 19th? (the Sunday in 1 week and 2 days)

Barça plays this week at that hour on sunday, then it isn't probable they will play at the same hour the next sunday cause of pay tvs...

about servers i don't care about, just a fortress server, maybe a regular one this time?

But i prefer a best of 3 matches, a best of 5 with so much players is more time than i can expend.

Although 2020's server has a few lag issues.
I can put a regular fortress up for the night, we will have control over it then.

That would only MAYBE work if you took down CTWF since that lags a lot and if 2 almost full servers are running...:shit:...
2020's is our best bet...so can you guys make it?

Our server sits on a 100Mbit backbone. It can happily run 2 busy servers (as it has so many times in the past).
There will always be a certain amount of lag, it's the nature of the game.
If it really bothers you I can take CTWF down for the duration of the match.

From my experience, trying to have a controlled battle in a server we have no control over is a very bad thing. Often ruining the event.
Anyone remember the last 4 team fortress tourny, where the organiser failed to show, and his server wasn't even set up. That was a complete waste of so many peoples time. Not the kind of thing I'd like to repeat.

yea ed i remember this shit ;p so dorka think about our server ;p many of us have lags there 2.

actually ed that wasnt his fault neccessarily because my server was set to the 4 team fortress.. but of course ct, and ast (low pingers) complained about it AGAIN so then we decided to switch to a euro server later... and then there wasnt even enuff teams for it to be 4 teams.

legit, surely it was more of a "democratic vote" like that as more people wanted it in a europe server, as opposed to you just putting it on your server just to benefit your team

what i mean was, it was more of a democracy vote. about 4 players wanted in a us server, and about 9 in euro server. plus youre all used to playing with higher pings anyway, euro players arent. seems fair enough to me

o ya alex that makes it all fair now! rotf anways we shuldnt have to deal with it every time and then when ur team wins u think ur so good even tho ur pings were so low.
