Crazy Tronners :: View topic - Can you help me with dedicated server configuration?

I'm new in this stuff but I know that my server is multiplayer playable with classic maps (default).
Now i'd like to play my maps so i created one: just respawn wall and winzone for test. Files:
<a href="http://p4.doesntexist.org/cfg/P4/test/test-0.0.1.aamap.xml">Map</a>, <a href="http://p4.doesntexist.org/settings_custom.cfg">Settings</a>, <a href="http://p4.doesntexist.org/server_info.cfg">Server_info</a>
I got some errors with resources after setting MAP_FILE P4/test/test-0.0.1.aamap.xml.

Can you help me with basics?

hmmm I have no idea what's wrong...I changed some things and uploaded the file to http://durdur.freehostia.com/resource/P4/test/test-0.0.1.aamap.xml

I've changed resource_repository_server to http://durdur.freehostia.com/resource/ and error is the same. Isn't it sth wrong with server config? And what did you change? Wink

have u tried it with the normal version of the game (non dedicated), and played offline with it....

if u have that means there is nothing wrong with ur file path or map settings, walls etc

i have limited experiance with dedicated... heck i was just gonna download it today, but u obviously beat me to it.

When I'm plaing on my non-dedicated server and somebody connects it crashes after few rounds, sometimes couple minutes. No errors, just everybody stops. With dedicated server i can play with people without crash.
I can see some w3.org errors on screenshot, is that mean some syntax is wrong?
What does it mean: You're not allowed to access files outside of the configured file herarchies?
And what about :2: and :3:? I suppose it's line numbers but from where?
I'm using win32 version of 0.2.8.2 server (newest line in ChangeLog.txt: 2006-06-02 22:33)
And XML validation error in .xml... hmm...

well, the problem i'm looking is that file isn't using the correct dtd ans saw u miss on ur map these lines (the firsts ones):

i supposed 4 what i read u activate the repository with something like:

The heading of your map is all wrong.
Look at Kyle's writeup on our wiki, it will explain all.
The Arma wiki goes into more depth if you need it.

I've change it to UTF-8 and AATeam/map-0.2.8.0.dtd and even host it at local server (http://remik.is.dreaming.org/resource). Errors was the same... I was searching the net to find solution but I was tired. I hope i can handle this problem soon.
