Hi people of around, some mates told me some things in this line, i want a global feedback.

We will move to the new host soon and we will have the crazy-tronners.com domain, then once we will be there, i want to know what steps do you think we have to follow in web design, new template, new structure, new contents, ...

In my brain i have the idea to make a system to manage the new ranking system, but i won't work on it until i don't see it works, cause it means a lot of original work to do and i don't want to spent a couple of my holiday days in a waste of time.

The portal at http://tron.plantpeanuts.co.uk/portal.php is overloaded with information. All of it valid, but the page itself is nasty.

The left hand pane running throughout the forums? I think we could do without.
It is all useful, and should remain somewhere. But not a constant feature. It makes the page look untidy and cluttered.

How about a main page www.crazy-tronners.com which has all the info that is now on the portal - news, member info, etc.
And keep the forums just as forums. To me the forums have become very untidy.

Just my opinions, maybe others disagree.

i think the same of the left bar, in fact i want it there, but no direct option to remove, but i check code, and i fix it 4 u , yes i'm a mighty of php code

i agree with portal text, was a beta, but nobody helped on improve it or sort it and i just left it.

Thanks, that's better. The left bar comes and goes when I'm moving around, most disconcerting, but better.

And it's not the text on the portal page that's the problem (although this could be improved). It's the layout of the page - It's information overload, words everywhere, I can see it putting off new visitors. It scares me, I just move quickly to a new page whenever I find find myself there by accident.

ed, it's a popular 3 columns design, maybe the content isn't the best, but not that scary.

btw i kicked the lateral how is online, cause it sucks, i did lately, then put again, and maybe i will put again, dunno, i'm undecided

well this website is good... portal is a bit scary, cos u login and poof u fall off ur seat cos its there right in ur face. cluttered is too euphamistic, i think.

one good thing is the colOur scheme. the orange and grey go together, and the occasional white and black writing is good.

anyway i suppose u know u can change orange in ur profile, there are several colors, pick the most u like.

i made a few changes, how it looks it now (special related to the incoming migration)?

You might be a master tronner, but you really don't have an eye for design. Maybe you should ask loops to give you a hand with page layout and content.

I like the artemis-design but the portal page is way overloaded. the board itself is still messy. there are too many postings which have no information at all. call it spam or whatsoever. it's hard to filter the important messages but the news section is a good try for that.

I agree with sol. The "portal" is simply too full. A short welcome message would be enough.
But the thing wich I hate most are those spam-messages (mostly from syllabear or staff).
That's what a chat is for -> messages, unimportant for everyone.
All in all, it's a good forum and I would say the design is... ehmm... "okay".
Just my opinion, maybe you want to know...
