silly idea: using armagetron-ct (the one with scripting), build a sumo bar like server where each player have 1 token per round that allow him to teleport 1 or 2 m ahead according to his current position and direction.

Players can use it using an instant command like /jump...

That should be pretty simple actually



edit: btw using this branch should be the way to build the sumo with target thing...

I'm not sure if it would work well, but it couldn't hurt to try!

When they jump forward, do they leave a tail over the part the jumped? IMO, it would be best if there is no tail.

Not to mention it can be only server specific ( ie server has to have the feature implemented to make it work...

@owned: no wall. Technically it means drop current wall without starting a new one, move safely to destination, drop wall to start a new one et voilà !

Would this jump be instantaneous, or at the speed the person is going? Strategies would be incredibly different depending on which one is true.

technically, both can be implemented. I was thinking of a tiny instantaneous jump like the size of a small hole...
I see your point about strategy, that could open a box full of crazy tricks actually ... the most obvious being not using the jump to go through a wall but to jump forward and turn to cut the way of an opponent.
That's already 4 different options you've pointed our (2x2: with or without wall, instantaneous or normal speed), I guess we'll have to try...
