Was the boat a ship?

Was the boat completely in tact when the man drowned? Meaning, was it blown up? Did it crash?

Did he fall off the ship intentionally? Accident?

If accidentally, was it something that surprised him as to why he fell off? Was he trying to protect something/someone?

Did he have any health conditions?
