Today the Fortress Onslaught server was slightly altered to fit the base/zone more to the middle. More challenging and more interesting. YES!

So,.
If base is to remain more in center has anyone considered the possibility of having spawns on opposite sides of the map?

..
FYI- The Monty Python-esque death messages are priceless! [/b]

interesting Idea, having a central zone, and attackers coming from all around? (several respawn points? because several span points from start would imply several teams I think, so a new scoring system)

currently, there is a shared spawn point. So unless you are really keen to who just died you won't know if an enemy or friend is
behind you. Razz

I've been thinking the same thing. Possibly just a mini tournament with 4 or 8 teams for now?
At least timing shouldn't be such a problem as the ladle the maximum a match can last is 18 minutes, but it rarely does.
I'd like to see some decent team strategies emerge.
I'm away next week, then it'll be the ladle, maybe after that we can get one together.

I think the FPL should have been Onslaught. Too bad the game mode wasn't quite ready at that time. I definitely want to compete in Onslaught.

I rent a 24 slot direct host server from Manta used mainly for annex fort practice.

I would gladly offer it for a league of the kind described above.

Sorry, I can't seem to find a lot of spare time at the moment. Work is super busy, plus I have found myself playing in a local squash ladders and league which isn't leaving me much time left over.

If someone wants to run a fortress onslaught tournament, please be my guest - I can put up 2 arma servers for the duration and I would love to play in it.

i could probably put up 2 on my usa servers and a few more on other CT servers. I'd also be able to help set it up however my weekends are probably going to be busy starting soon again, so i probably would not be there the day of the competition.

with 4 servers we could have 8 teams of 5? so 3 rounds to determine the winner
actually probably could have 12 teams but would be 4 rounds 8 play first and 4 move on to play the remaining 4 in the second round

so if it is best of 3 we should be safe by allowing 45 minute timeslots like the ladle?

should it be individuals that sign up or teams?

Individuals would probably be better, because not only will it be a change in the basic fortress game mode, but a change in the same teams over and over again.

Sounds good to me. That would require just 4 servers. The smaller it is the less input needed to run it.

Yep, I would estamate a best of 3 would take between 20 - 35 minutes, so 45 mins would be safe.

Hmm, I dunno. But it should be a first come first served basis. I can see the slots filling up quickly.
