It is approximately 3 times your age and then add 1 to that

What number system did you want used for the answer?

Sorry is this supposed to be plotted on the complex number coordinate system?

That's IT. To find the solution required a 3D Plot. X, Y, and Z axes.

X= The desire of the applicant to join CT
Y= The desire of the CT clan for the applicant to join CT.
Z= The number of good and bad things the applicant has done.

Since this is a real world thing, all imaginary solutions are thrown away as invalid. Just like any engineering problem. By the sound of the joining topic, X was positive and real, but not by nearly enough to pull up Y and Z which were neither positive nor real.

Please use spherical or cylindrical coordinate system.

3D = 3 dimensions: X, Y, Z

complex coordinate system = same as the 2D X, Y one, but with the added axis for the 3rd dimension.

I am guessing that I just invented this, but why not?

Well complex numbers are of the form a+bi, normally the a part when graphed represents where it is on the x-axis, and the bi part represents where it is on the y-axis. I'm not sure what you would have to represent the z-axis if you expanded it to three-dimensions.

You can make it 4-d with C x C (essentially two sets of complex numbers in the form (a+bi, c+di),
but I have no idea how you would make it 3-d.

The answer, of course, is that you can't. Like I said, I totally made it up with no regard for reality. Spherical or cylindrical would be the way to go here. This really was just meant as a tongue in cheek joke.
