No one's posted here in months, so: TOPIC REVIVAL!!!!

I'll split this into two posts because it's gonna be long.

I first heard about this game back in 2004 when my brother played Armagetron Advanced. I saw him play but thought it looked stupid so I never tried it myself. 2 years later in October 2006, my friend told me of this "cool" game he found and he showed me Armagetron Advanced although somehow I didn't realize it was the same game that my brother had played. (I only figured this out in 2009) So I played it over at his house a few times and he always beat me. So a week or so later I went to my house and downloaded the game and started playing it. I played until I was better than my friend and I ended up playing mostly in high rubber and medium rubber servers. After a while I couldn't think of a good name (I originally played with my real name) so I used the name owner as a joke for a really bad name. Then one day I saw someone with the same name so I switched to owned. I kept on playing and kept telling myself I would think of a better name later but I never did and eventually I got used to it.

So after about two months in the game I looked at all of these clans with their servers and decided I wanted to join one. So I found a medium rubber clan called S3D and tried to join in December although they had a policy that people had to have played 3 months. I thought it was an unfair rule so I lied about how long I played (I might be remembering that part wrong) and I became a trainee. S3D had members who still play today like Magic and K-yo (then KeY_3113). I remember never seeing Magic but just hearing how he was the best player in the clan and was awesome. Oh how times have changed. Razz
But as I tried to join S3D tried to reinvent itself and I think it became something like shadow riders. I remember it then collapsing but I'm not entirely sure as I stopped being a trainee and stopped playing with the S3D people.

One day I saw this really colorful server named Crazy Tronners Wild Fortress and decided to try it. People kept on yelling at me and kicking me saying things like GRIND and SPLIT. I got really annoyed but kept on coming back because the maps were so fun and eventually I learned how to do both of them. I was amazed at the coincidence in how I always was playing the best players as I always saw people go to rank 1 or rank 2, etc. It turns out those ranks were just for shuffling. Smile While I was in CTWF I though people like tom and niro were the best players ever as they always pwned in ctwf.

So after a while I started playing regular fort more often although I still played mostly in ctwf. I founded a team ©© called camper's clan and recruited some players who later became good like tadd and legionnaire, and others like vandetta and yellow lightning. I don't remember exactly why I wanted to join ct but it might've had to do with the fact that tadd and vandetta joined ctt. So I applied in early February and although I sucked a lot they still accepted me in early March (I have no idea why they did looking back Very Happy.) I was always annoyed at xevi because he said he wanted to test me but he was never on when I was. After two votes, one failed, I finally became a full cter in May!

It took me a while but I eventually started liking Fortress Cafe more than CTWF although I still was addicted to CTWF. I remember watching Infamous on the CTWF ladder completely pwning everyone and I wanted to do as well as him. Once I got 2nd on the ladder and I was surprised and happy that I got there. Although I slid down to like 20 after doing 100 more rounds Very Happy.

At around the same time I tried to help UPZ, a new clan, get off the ground, by building them a forums and helping them recruit. I think you can tell how well that turned out. Smile Since Ladle 12 happened in June and then there was a 1 year ladle break, I wasn't able to play in a ladle for the first year I was in the clan. Instead we ended up playing a good deal of clan wars and also doing the AFL, none of which we did particularly well in: I don't think we ever beat x until after the ladles started. It was in this period of time that my best/luckiest moment occurred: I was defense and three spers entered into the zone, but I managed to kill two of them really quickly and then trapped the third to win the round. Around this time, I alternated around with different positions: I played offense, defense, sweeper, and rarely center.

Also at the same time, sol set forth his great plan to improve the clan. As it happened, I felt ct becoming better every day, and I wanted to help. In october, I became a ct ambassador, or the predecessor to the squad leader. Essentially ambassadors had all the powers of the squad leader, without the actual leading of a squad part. I stayed really active and tried to get ct in lots of clan wars and tournaments. I also tried to recruit new people, with limited success.

After a year, ct started playing in ladles again, and I became determined to help us win one. Our first Ladle in a while was Ladle 13, and it was a good experience for us. We made it to the finals against X, and lost in a close 3-2 battle. (although admittedly they should've won 3-1 as they lost one match due to a failed torp in the last round) Over the next two ladles we improved, while I settled my place down in 1st position, until we won in Ladle 16 in October 2008! I'm proud to say that I had a big part in the eventual win. I and the rest of the clan was completely ecstatic when this happened as we hadn't won anything big before that.

As time went on, I strove to improve my centering. While 6 months before, Legit had introduced what difference a good center could make in a game, as time went on, more and more people became proficient at centering. I think that I improved and invented some new tactics until I was a guy who was looked at as dangerous by any other center on the pitch. I reached my peak around late 2009 and stayed around there until late 2010 and while others have gotten really good recently, I'm proud of having ruled center, at least for a while.

One of my favorite parts of being in CT has been being a squad leader. While the Ambassador position was destroyed sometime in early 2008, I became CT's 2nd squad leader in late 2008, and I've led the A squad, either with empha, by myself, or with gonzap ever since.

For the next few years after Ladle 16, CT kept on winning Ladles, and on and on until we became the winningest clan. It's great to be a part of a clan that has improved so much throughout the years and is still thriving. What I've liked even more than that though is the people in the clan. It's because of you guys that I've stayed in this clan for over 4 years. I've practically grown up while in the clan, joining at 12, and now I'm 16, and I've found you guys good at arma, nice, and fun to talk with my entire way through.

I also love the friends I've made outside ct. I won't list names here because I know I'll miss some people. Thanks to all of those in the arma community who have been awesome people. While there have been the occasional trolls or flamers (I think you guys know who I'm talking about), overall the community has been great and it's been a pleasure playing with you all.

I guess I'll copy fofo's player stats part:
Clans : S3D, ©©, CT
Ladles played : ~40
Ladle Finals played : 20
Ladles Won : 9, all mainly center
Won WST 6
Played on US team for both US vs. EU games, tied both times
Won 2 ladles in a row with CT
Won 4 ladles out of 6 with CT
Best Center Tronny 2010
Fort MVP Tronny 2010

My close friend sam introduced me into this game. He told me it was a lot of fun though i have never heard of it until he said armagetron. I downloaded it and we mainly would go to CTWF and kill our teammates and watch them get pissed off. Then I downloaded on my home computer, and started actually playing instead of tking people.

I found this server called 2 fast 2 Dangerous in my early months of tronning and That is how i learned to be a really good high rubber player. I joined The clan Speed Freaks and that lasted only a month or so. Then I joined Devils decent, ahigh rubber clan and was there for about 2 or 3 weeks before the clan died. Then I found CTWF very interesting so i learned how to triple bind and become fairly good in all the player maps. It was about december of 2010 when I got authentication from CT forums and amragetron forums and started playing fortress and sumo. About january 10th I applied for Tronners unlimited and It was a short while before i got rejected.

About a couple hours after being rejected I applied to the united noobs of armagetron. It took about 2 or thee weeks before I sadly was rejected. In febuary i applied to them again and Got accepted as a trainee. With the help of uNa|dorit0z and uNa|loki I really grasped how to learn to play fort instead of do my ow thing. the 24th of february I got accepted as a full uNa| member. About 6 months later I decided to take my leave from the clan because i felt all the experienced members became inactive and I was the only one who actually had a strive to become a even better player. Then on auguest 16th, 2011 I applied to the Crazy Tronners and that is where I am at as of now.

Back in highschool I had a friend who used to watch porno on pirated cable channels because the installation wasnt properly made. He was so excited to share it with all of us that he one day invited me to teach him Visual Basic. He quit after 10minutes when i saw him looking at the wall. Then he gave me a CD, which was a digital edition of a Tech Magazine, and I took it home. After some time I decided to insert the mystical circular device into my CD Reader, and it happens there was a load of viruses to try for free inside, and armagetron 2.6. I tried the game and at first i thought you only could turn left so it's like snake but a weird version. Then I got internet and as it was the only game I had at the moment with internet capabilities, i tried it. Hooked for life. Tru story.
