Flex's Fortress Cup 2011
Sign-ups are open - http://wiki.armagetronad.net/index.php?title=FFCup

This is a five versus five Fortress cup tournament, but with a cash reward! All teams are required a small entry fee of €1.5 (PayPal conversion) to qualify with an extra €50 added to the pot that will be awarded to winning team.

If all teams sign up, this will be in total €62 to the winning team. There are only 8 team slots available to ensure reliable/stable servers.

Just like a regular Fortress knock-out tournament/cup, it will take place in one evening. Each team will be matched up randomly against another team. The winning team will move onto the next round, the losers will be knocked-out of the tournament. Eventually only two teams will have surpassed them all to reach the final match.

Note: This tournament will only be held as a yearly event.

Date:
Sunday the 25th of September, 2011. 18:00 GMT.

Sign-Up Deadline:
18th of September, 2011, exactly 23:59, GMT.

More information available on the wikipedia page, further inquiries can be addressed by posting on the Speeders forum FF Cup thread.

The entry fee was there to reduce the amount of signed up teams due to a limited amount of spots.

Anyway, oddeuro is away, I think. So I'll update everyone:

Update: I've closed the sign-ups for now due to the entry fee possibly not complying with PayPal terms and conditions. I will gather more information then re-open it soon. I will remove the entry fee, but still keep the prize money. Adjustments in terms of the available slots can either be determined by qualifiers, such as the week before (18th) with 16 teams and the first 8 teams to go through or just have the first 8 to apply for a spot to join.

The reward money will still be €50. I will get back to everyone shortly. There's still a month to go, so I hope there won't be any difficulties with this change.

Please tell me if you prefer the 16 team qualifier or you prefer 8 teams, first come first serve.

You could drop the entry fee, but perhaps leave your paypal lying around so anyone can "donate" a small amount, perhaps 1.5 euros or so, just to thank you for running such a tournament Smile
