Q: Hello, fellow tronner. What is your tron name?
A: Hello and good evening

? My tron name is
emmy.
Q: Hi emmy. How did you find the best computer game made ever?
A: Well, although this seems to be the basic question of such an interview, it is hard for me to look back in the depths of ancient times when I first played this game. The first version was
an earlier version of tron (maybe glTron or something, I'm not very sure), in which I couldn't change the camera, had a constant low speed and only was able to play it locally - maybe I was too young and noob by that time to search for settings.
Q: And how did you do the step to online game?
A: This step consisted of 2 or 3 steps. After my beginning described early, which took place maybe
7 years ago, I found and played Armagetron for the first time with my cousin
Punk (former CT_Punk), still local. That version had settings, so I played a bit with AI of computer, number of players, length of wall. Somehow the local server had rubber and a pretty decent wall accel, so I could already find some strategies to box and dumb the AI's

. This happened around 6 years ago.
Due to monotony we stopped playing.
After a year ago, we played a bit again on local server, and also found the multiplayer server, tried to play for a couple of minutes, didn't understand anything and exited :S.
3.5 years ago I moved from Bucharest, the capital city, to Iasi, where my cousin Punk was from. As we had more time to meet now we started playing again Armagetron.
We tried once again entering multiplayer and the first server we entered on was CTWF. We were both playing with split screen btw

.
Q: I'm glad to hear you had the interest or at least curiosity to try again on the Internet after failing at first attempt.
A: Yes, but even the second attempt was quite hard. Starting October 2007, we played for around 1 month only on CTWF and several times on a racing server (I can't remember which, it tried to simulate F1 in a way). During this time we started playing each other on his own computer.
Being kicked many times for non-grinding (I don't remember anyone explaining the notion, but I figured out the tactic of start and split by watching them) and dying at start at the maps (considering there were different splits),
we quit again for about 2 weeks -.-.
Q: I see, hard time for newcomers being kicked for not grinding and stuff.
A: True. I decided to give it one more try and really understand the gameplay now. I had the luck for the server to crash, so everybody went to bugfarm sumo, so I found out that there were other modes besides
CTWF and
racing
. I already had a notion of what sumo is, CTWF including some sumo maps.
Playing on bugfarm, I quickly found out about
Flower Power Sumo Assault :X :X :X (one of my favorite servers) and
Fortress Cafe.
At the beginning of december I learned about
clans. I also got close to
safa, as he probably noticed me ^^ - love you safa, my tron father and trainer ^^ - and asked me if I'm interested to try to join the clan. I was happy to hear that, as I had a good impression of the clan from the start and had the idea from the beginning that this was the best clan.
Q: How did your testing period, before CTT and as CTT, go?
A: It was one of the most beautiful tron periods I've had so far. It was nice and intense being tested by various CT fellows, many people considered that period to be on of my best, at least proportionally to the time played.
Example: I had a discussion with
Fofo in January 2008 I think, I was still CTT by that time, on Flower Power. He asked me how long did I play and what other nicks I used before xD. I said 3 months of multiplayer, 1 month of sumo / fort. He said it can't be, I'm too good for being so new in this game (I remember I really had some good days back then) oO. Fofo is also one of my first and long time friends ^^.
One other nice aspect about
trainership was getting also close to
K-Yo and
Gonzap, as they we're in the same situation as me, and
Sol, who played a big part in helping me with this process. I remember also that
P4 helped me with some basic notions in the beginning

.
Q: Good old times
. Do you remember your first clan war?
A: Yes, how could I not

? It was right on the day when I've got accepted as CTT. I entered the server to watch the match and the guys told me to join because I've just been accepted ^^. I was so afraid in that match - I think I've had bigger emotions than in university exams

.
Also, in this period I've started challenging people and also finding important aspects about the game: tournaments (AFL - sounded big and cool, too bad never got a change to play one, ladle - I was surprised to find out CT didn't win one (yet), other clans - I was surprised there were other good clans too).
Oh, and I forgot, somewhere in December I found out about
custom camera, which I consider one of the decisive changes in my game play - I had really a hard time with "Smart" camera.., and double / triple binds.
Q: Lol. Ok, the last question of our first interview is: when did the big day happen?
A: Hehe. I've had the honour to be accepted into
CT in the same day with K-Yo <3, on the memorable day of January 24th 2008.
Q: Ok, CT_emmy! Thank you for your answers and looking forward to talk with you again soon!
A: Sure, see ya
