I have just finished setting up authentication. As a courtesy to all CT'ers I will keep an eye on the logs and setup each clan member that comes to my server, and be sure to grant them a minimum of Team member status. I would like to encourage you CT'ers to use my server to keep in practice with the pings that you have. All Europeans that I have talked to have said the server has delivered accetable performance.

I can also grant admin access to anyone I wish. Don't be surprised if I as some of you sever techs for help. I am a brand new server admin...and I know just enough to have an idea of how much I don't know.

Thanks to everyone in the CT clan that has helped with both admin issues and learning fortress. I really appreciate all you guys do for the community:!:

There is a forum to to request a team practice. Since I have authentication enabled, I can easily grant rights to a team that allow them a measure of control over the server.

Don't grant that to lots of players and check reliability. Too many cooks spoil the soup.

If your familiar with the details of Armathentication, as I am sure that many of you are, you will know that it is possible for me to grant rights for a practice, and then take them away afterward. I plan to give team leaders and team members enough access to be able to have the control they need during the practice, and no more. I also hope to use these practices to eventually gain a few moderators and admins. While I understand the too many cooks spoil the pot theory, the design of this server is to be as simplistic as possible. Many things that other servers do automatically, will be done manually by admins and mods. For instance, the first new feature that Durka is helping me implement, is a number of include files for other game modes, like CTF, CTFS, Sumo, and Team Sumo. This will allow my server to be used for tourneys and team/clan practices in these game modes.

Of course, if your a mod or admin, you'll be able to easily manage a clan/team practice with minimal intervention from me. I have no desire to do all the work. I just want to provide a platform for the community to use. If your interested in applying to be a mod or admin, PM me here, in the Wild West Forum, or in my forum. Alternatively, you could just catch me playing in my server and we could talk about it. I also am compguygene on AIM with MSN coming soon.
