Some CT servers have optional authentication build in and some will be playable only if you're authenticated. Now we know that some guys have problem with authentication.

Problem:
He can't login with his forum's account in a 0.2.8 client within the menu but he's sure that he typed his account correctly.

Solution:
The field "Username" in authentication menu was filled out incompletely. It's not enough to type only the account's username!!!

After your username you have to add:
@forums (if you're registered at forums.armagetronad.net)
@crazy-tronners.com (if you're registered at crazy-tronners.com)
...etc...

Example Usernames:
KirkdaleFreak@forums
KirkdaleFreak@crazy-tronners.com

actually the problem seams to be he tried logging in as KirkdaleFreak where his name here is actually KirkFreak

so /login KirkFreak@crazy-tronners.com

Fill in the fields (it will set username as your gridname so if your grid name is different you must update that) in your case you must change it back to KirkFreak
put in password
and you should be authenticated

EDIT: after further looking

you need to logout and log back into the forums

you name needs to be listed on here

Just wanted to say thanks to Sol and Skater for taking the time to try and help me with my auth problems. Still don't know what the exact problem with the Kirkdale account is but registered under the new name LiverpoolFreak and all the problems have disappeared. My gratitude can not be put into words as recently been getting faked (which is strange as I am not exactly everyone's friend or popular for that matter!). Sol and Skater once again thanks for all the time and help (which must have done your heads in because it was doing my head in). LiverpoolFreak aka KirkdaleFreak.

i have an authentication/login problem
every time i try to login it either says:
user not found or user does not exist
i have tried changing my user name both
on tron and here to try to login but i still
cannot login. As im 90% of my tron time playing
CTWF i would like to be able to login
to get the special privileges...
ive spoken to kyle (on tron) and we both couldn't
figure out what my problem was.
i hope you can help...

some too special characters in you login name or password?

If i remember correctly you were logging in changing your username to username@ct when it comes up you do not put @ct at the end you just keep it as your username -FrEeToSk8bRd-

I have a problem with my access level I wanna be Mod -4 again

guys i type /login Bloody_I©E as the list shows that i am registered but nothing

should be /login Bloody_Ice@ct
make sure that when it prompts you for password that the username is Bloody_Ice
