I'd like to publish our new Chat place available on the FreeNode irc network or in the Board Navigation menu (needs JAVA). It's nice room for players talking about anything related to our clan, armagetron, its community or whosoever knows what else. All in realtime.
We got a bot there called armabot. There's a few exaples how to use:

it doesn't work, it says

Safari can’t open “irc://irc.freenode.net/crazy-tronners” because Mac OS X doesn’t recognize Internet addresses starting with “irc:”.

øwned: if you want to use irc:// links you should install some irc client and register this protocol to system. i dunno how to do this in mac but irc client dedicated to mac should do this automagicly during installation. try kyle's link above. it needs just java

type some details about problem. what os, browser, java version do you use. where did you got this erros (after java applet loaded?).

Hmmm.... strange it should work fine... what is Java HotSpot? Does other java applicatin works fine for you? (try JAVE or sth else that needs working JAVA) Windows XP should be fine (dunno what is 2K7 version).
Finally you could install mIRC, after installing this link should work fine irc://irc.freenode.net/crazy-tronners

HotSpot is a java feature, which optimizes special code parts that are used more often than others.

if its irc u can use gamesurge (www.gamesurge.net) i think...

to join do "/join #[servername]"

and for nickname its /nick [name]

looks like your firewall blocks java applications. ok get GAIM (it has IRC plugin) or mIRC/X-Chat/irssi or just fcuk it and stay connected at forums (realtime is realtime )

acrtually i don't use AIM, i got some contact info in my profile, but i use irc/gg only (gadu-gadu is polish specific IM, if you got gg (like in Gaim/Pidgin) my number is 3540115 (there's some spambot protection like if i dont have you on my userlist you got to send me 'wpuscmnie' as 1st message. else i won't get the msg )

gamesurge is so much easier and my comment got ignored!

but i cant use it cos if i try to use ANY java aplet on the ressidents club computer it just closes my browser (I tried firefox same thing) and gives me a 10,000 word txt document of code and error explanations that i dont understand...
